The Serbian government falsely accused me several times in the mass
media of being financed by the USA government and the CIA, and for being
a "traitor" and a "mercenary" during the reign of S. Milosevic and accused
of publishing subversive libertarian literature. During the decades of
communism in SFR Yugoslavia I was labeled and persecuted as a "Western
agent" or a "CIA colonel".
My family was exposed to the same treatment. My son MiIan lives with
his mother who I divorced in 1984. His mother Aleksandra has been robbed
several times and does not receive her salary on a regular basis. She's
been forced to pay exaggerated and erroneous telephone and electricity bills
and her electricity has been cut off. Both Milan and his mother were
persecuted during Tito and Milosevic reigns.
Aleksandra came from a very rich Jewish family, which was robbed by
communists in 1945. My son during a regulation medical examination in 1999
was told in front of many soldiers to be a "traitor" and mercenary". After
that, he got sick and spent a long time in hospital. In recent months he was
in the street driving his bicycle, and was knocked down by an unknown car
driver. They both live in fear and isolation. The same is true of my brother,
sister and mother, and other cousins.
Aleksandra was without the means to survive and was obliged to sell her
apartment for a very cheap price, hoping to leave Yugoslavia for Canada. She
was deceived by Stevan Miljus, a security agent who took from her 8.000 German
marks to provide her and my son with visas for Canada. He took the money,
and did not give them visas. He is now free and protected by the police and
courts because he is a security agent. They are now both social cases, without
apartments and without revenues, and without visas and Canada. And they are
still always suffering from the discrimination of the courts which are
protecting S.Miljus and the robbers who took her and her family’s property.
Our organization receives most of the complaints of human rights violations
in our country. I am therefore in a position to share with you some facts
about the recent situation in our country, and to invite you to take measures
to inform the public about it, and to ask the Government of our country to
promote respect for human rights. We invite international human rights
organizations and international communities to intervene and to protect our
people.
